Vultures 2012

Vultures 2012 is a new sludge metal/stoner rock group from Seattle. Check them out if you like High on Fire, Doomriders or Kyuss.

I first heard them on the new KEXP metal show "Seek & Destroy". Host Hannah Levin had a write-up on them at the Seattle Weekly website. They will be playing live on KEXP on January 30th at 8 PM. Their 4-song demo is a free download at Last.fm.

KEXP Documentaries

If you ever have some time on your hands, I highly recommend the KEXP documentary series. Each series has a handful of episodes on a topic. Each episode is 5 to 10 minutes long. My favorites are Punk Evolution, Death, Drugs and Rock n' Roll, Portraits of Post Punk, and Pop Goes Electronic.

Top 903 Albums Of All Time

KEXP Seattle is counting down it's top 903 albums of all time right now. The albums were chosen by listeners via online submission. The albums lean toward the indie side because of the listener base, but we'll see how it pans out. The list is due to finish up on Friday at the end of their pledge drive.
